George O'Sullivan received the Golfer of the Year trophy last night at the Captains and Presidents Dinner. George was one of the form golfers throughout the year and built up his points at eight different qualifying events. It wasn't until the October Medal however that he stole a lead when his 69 was enough to secure his first medal and the Golfer of the Year title.

Michael Finn of NSG Group sponsored the magnificient perpetual trophy and was on hand to join the Captain and President in presenting the trophy. George also received a permanent trophy and his October Medal.

The annual Harbour Point Challenge Shield was played for today and as usual it was a very tight match between the Course and Club. Despite 12 months of planning, Course Captain Barry Healy was forced to make some late changes to his line-ups. All in all it did him no harm as they took title on a scoreline of 4-3. Charlie Kelly's selection battled hard in every match but more importantly an enjoyable afternoon was had by all. The Course side featured many of the staff and our current and previous proprietors, Joe Scally and Sean O'Connell. On the other side Captains and President's, past and present and committee members made up the team.

The historical record now reads Club 2 - Course 2. After winning the first two matches in 03 & 04, the Club will be keen to regain the trophy and bragging rights
next time around.

The Winter league standings have been updated and Montgomery has taken an early but narrow lead. An impressive 103 golfers recorded scores but unfortunately one team only had five counting scores.

Winter League Round 2

The Winter League starts this weekend.

12 teams will compete with 6 golfers scores counting each week. The competition takes place over 14 holes and members are free to play on Saturday or Sunday. If you play both days, the score from Saturday will count.

Last years finalists made it through because all of the players submitted scores every week so get out and play and give your team a fighting chance. Last year we have a great turn–out so we’re hoping for the same again.
