Members Day, Monday 30th October 2006
22 teams competed in the Members Day Scramble, with a shot-gun start at 11 a.m. The rain held off and a good time was had by all. This event has been sponsored by Motorola for many years & once again John & Terry Philips joined us on the day. The scores were very tight (as usual).
The winning team comprised of Ronan Geary, Bill O’Sullivan, Margaret Purcell and Anne Brownen
The team had a gross 68 (4 under) with a nett score of 58.5. There were prizes for the top 5 teams, with only 1.8 points separating the 1st & 5th teams. Following the meal & prizegiving, we were entertained by “Note Perfect”, a fabulous choral group. Everyone enjoyed the performance and you only had to look around the room to see everyone singing along to every song. Following the performance, at least half of the group stayed on & a sing song developed, alternating between songs from the members & the choir. Hopefully, everyone had an enjoyable day.
